Deciding a nice color palette/font for a landing page

I am trying to roll out a landing page for a trading competition. It's at its very early stage right now.

Right now I am focus on:

• Free font to use (google font preferably)


• Color palette


• color arrangements

Below is how it looks like right now:

Put Your Trading Skills Into Action Background-Color:

Background: #036564;

Compete with the best Background color: Background: #033649;

Start Trading color (at right on menu): Tan

I would like to kindly know the following;

• Does the current colors selection make sense?


• What would be next background color used after compete with the best, in the sense that I am going to have another div.

I am also using the font Roboto, and if you have any better free alternative I would like to know.
