Why the use of interceptors is considered as not a good practice?

I'm trying to understand AOP and the most common sample I've seen is the usage of interceptors for cross-cutting concerns (i.e. logging, authentication, etc).

However, I've read in some sites that this is not a good practice nor optimal design.

Why the usage of interceptors is not a good choice? Should I use decorator pattern instead?
