Implement Pattern Lock in custom Application android

I would like to know, how to implement pattern lock in android custom application. I have used a library and implemented it, but I would like to implement it on my own using buttons or any other views, but I cant figure out how to do it? can any one help me by showing an example. I have tried to implement it, but i cannot track a swipe over multiple buttons in android.
