Should we save and restor RecyclerView (or ListView) scroll position when user clicks on the back button?

Should we save and then restore RecyclerView (or ListView) scroll position when the user leaves the activity by pressing back button? What is the correct pattern? I'm not asking how to do this but should we do this.
