What is ISA 95 standard and are they useful in defining schema in NoSQL DBs?

I see that lot of people follow ISA 95 standard models for defining schema of their tables. https://github.com/MESAInternational/B2MML-BatchML

Why they are so much followed in companies? And are they of any use in case of NoSQL database? Is there any book someone can follow for this to understand different kind of schemas defined in this?

Apart from ISA 95 standard, are there any current standards, which are followed by the companies as of today?
