How to give an Overview of a game in Unity3d?

i am currently using Unity for my thesis. For few days i am thinking how to give an overview of my game... Since Unity is based on Components a class diagram is inefficient.

I was thinking of showing a game object with it's related components, to give an better overview of the game world.

So my question is: Is there any structure/design or strategy for such ? I mean for class diagrams you usually try to keep the UML standard. Is there any for such type of architectures ?

I hope my question is somewhat understandable and I thank you for your answers in advance.
