The answer to this question may be "it depends" but I've implemented MVC as well as MVVM and MVVM is much cleaner and the extra abstraction layer seems to make it the obvious choice between the 2 patterns.
What are the other MV* patterns? I think there's MVP but I think that's fallen out of favor, right? Are there any other MV* patterns? Would you agree that MVVM seems to the intelligent default choice for a new MV* implementation?
