Web Design for MOOC/LMS

I was a working on my research thesis in which I proposed a new access control model based on the use of attributes. To demonstrate its usefulness I thought of considering a dummy MOOC (massive open online course) case study. After analyzing popular existing MOOCs such as coursera.org, udacity etc. to design my dummy MOOC in a similar way I have come up with the following observations.

  1. Pages for all the courses have the same design for the web page and they most differ by the content only.
  2. List of all the courses follow the same design (i.e. university name, course name) with the 'join for free' or 'verified certificate' options which may vary.

There are many other similarities in various pages. My question is that

  1. What is the best programming practice for creating such a web application which has similar structure but varying content in most of its web pages.
  2. Is there any design pattern which can be followed in this case?
