Differences between abstract factory pattern and factory pattern?

Could I just said that the abstract factory pattern is just a layer of abstraction above the creational patterns like factory pattern? The two are different, but the name abstract 'factory' is a little bit misleading for me to take is as some kind of 'factory'.
