String patterns in C++

I want to implement a programm that identifies all c++ identifiers(*a, &b, _str, etc.) in c++. So, since I am more experienced in Java I thought of using something like Patterns to make my life easier. But I couldn't find anything concrete on the web.

Any ideas? thank you in advance.
