what are (all) the names of layers (and packages) out there for a good project architecture? [JAVA EE]

I stopped for a year learning how to code (Java EE) and now I returned and I noticed that I have a misunderstanding in layers and packages naming and the meaning of each layer.
so for example I found in the same project :
DAO - Job - Presentation packages that are derived from the 3-tiers architecture,
Model - View - Controller of MVC pattern,
Action package for Struts related actions,
beans for entities ...
so I became doubtful about what layer means what and what use what ...
So if I can get a good reference or references on the subject that will be enlightening
