Design, pattern, "design pattern" meaning?

I am trying to understand the "design pattern". Can anyone explain in simple words what the meaning of following is in context of "design pattern":

1) Design
2) Pattern
3) "Design Pattern"

I read few pages of GoF book and in there, there was at least a paragraph dedicated to what "pattern" means (and honestly I didn't get anything).

So, can anyone explain in simple words?
