Merge response from slow and fast service

I have to merge 2 responses from different services and show it in the UI. The problem is one of the service response is faster and one is slower, so in the aggregation service layer, should I spawn threads and merge the response from the threads or should I make 2 different service calls from the UI and merge the response in the UI layer?
