Dose we need Repository Pattern when we use Hibernate in Java?

I am unable to understand which pattern should be better to develop Rest API. i want to use hibernate in that and jersey with Repository Pattern,But i am totally confused in Repository Vs Hibernate.Could anybody please help me to clarify it?
