Layers in domain driven design

In domain driven design domain-layer is said to be having no dependency with other layers. i.e. Repository interface is with domain layer while the implementation is at infrastructure layer.

However the bounded context (with domain + infra) is deployed as one unit/ deployable. And the layers are actually LOGICAL and not PHYSICAL. Then what is th real advantage of drawing this virtual layer-separator between domain and infrastructure?
