DAO Factory and Spring

This questions is regarding DAO Factories vs Spring.

In an application, that has DAO for database access, what benefits can using the DAO Factory bring to an application?

How does the following non DAO Factory approach sound?

1. Create Spring JNDI datasource resource.
2. Inject datasource created by Spring to the DAO.
3. Classes that need a Dao, the Dao will be an instance variable set by Spring.

Please consider this question targeted and not meant to be broad.
