Ruby on Rails - Model Design

I have a mode Note where user can make notes about different subjets

rails g scaffold Note sub1:text sub2:text sub3:text ... user:references

and a User model which has_one note and note belongs_to user

Is that a bad way? and if so what is the best way of doing this ?
